The event provides a forum for pipeline operators to share information and lessons learned from pipeline system incidents, near misses, facility integrity events, operating experiences, and improvements to pipeline safety programs. Topic areas include incident investigations, personnel safety incidents, damage prevention and excavation safety, leak detection, facility integrity, geohazard management, cracking, cycle management, corrosion, risk models, natural gas pipeline mega rule compliance, data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, new pipeline safety technologies, public engagement, ESG, sustainability, and conservation programs on pipeline rights of way. A separate pipeline safety workshop initiates work on revising API Standard 1163, ILI Systems Qualification, 3rd edition, as API begins development of the 4th edition. The PIX forum is intended for pipeline operating company representatives, while the standards workshop is open to interested participants.
