The workshop brings together experts from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss ongoing turbine research in combustion; materials, aerodynamics, and heat transfer; and pressure gain combustion and oxy-fuel combustion. The program includes university research sponsored by the UTSR program, graduate student fellow poster presentations, a laboratory tour at Purdue University's Zucrow Laboratories, and panel presentations from gas turbine industry leaders on key technological challenges. Agenda topics include hydrogen-containing fuels for gas turbines; multilayered ceramic thermal barrier coatings for hydrogen turbines; additively manufactured micromix hydrogen-fueled turbine combustors; ceramic matrix composites for hydrogen combustion; ammonia combustion turbines; environmental barrier coatings in hydrogen-fueled turbines; ammonia gas turbine combustors; supercritical carbon dioxide pilot plants and bottoming cycles; rotating detonation engines; pressure-gain combustion; primary heat exchangers for supercritical carbon dioxide waste-heat recovery; and NG-CT peaker upgrades with bottoming cycles. The workshop is designated as an open-to-the-public meeting.
