About
The program examines Oklahoma’s role in the development of stealth technology, including the HIDE project in Tulsa and work on aircraft, missiles, submarines, radar-absorbing structures, radar cross-section design, and survivability systems. It also connects that history to current aerospace talent development, Tinker modernization, and systems supporting responses to next-generation threats such as drone defense. Craig Baucke, author and former GE Aerospace radar cross-section consulting engineer, will be joined by Bob Strattan, Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at the University of Tulsa; Al Williams, former Director of Engineering at Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa; and Richard Moore, PE, who managed the HIDE group during its final years. Topics include the Hound Dog missile, the F-111, the B-1B, the Tomahawk cruise missile, the Navy A-12, the Army RAH-66 helicopter, radar-absorbing materials, low-observable design, and related aerospace engineering work conducted in Tulsa.
