About

The lecture examines how casing-design theory and practice have evolved from the load-case framework of the 1960s to modern applications involving extended-reach drilling, multistage-fractured unconventionals, subsea wells, carbon capture and storage, and super-hot geothermal wells. Topics include tubular stress analysis, incomplete or inaccurate load descriptions, pressure and temperature assumptions, engineering judgment, model selection, load-case definition, well integrity, and lifecycle requirements for HPHT, ERD, CCS, geothermal, and other complex wells.
