About
The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) Conference brings together engineers, designers, managers, and educators to share expertise, best practices, challenges, and application developments across commercial additive manufacturing technologies. Program elements include keynote presentations, technical sessions, panel discussions, training sessions, hands-on workshops, expanded roundtable discussions, training labs, AMUGexpo, Technical Competition, Start-up Launchpad, and the Innovators Showcase. The 2027 program adds simulation & AI and safety & cybersecurity tracks, expands the workshop format, and aligns tracks with industries and applications. Track subjects include Aerospace & Defense, covering flight-certified parts, weight optimization, satellite components, launch systems, qualification, repair and remanufacturing, standards, sustainment, and ruggedized systems; Automotive & Infrastructure, covering automotive, rail, construction, marine, heavy equipment, energy, batteries, and critical infrastructure repair; Business & Workforce Development, covering capital equipment, return on investment, efficiency, market research, mergers and acquisitions, and talent acquisitions; Design & Metrology, covering DfAM, GD&T, scanning, preprint processing, in-situ monitoring, and traceability; Emerging Technologies, covering research-to-industry translation, new entrants, startups, and process improvement; Industrial Applications, covering automation, tooling, hybrid manufacturing, robotics, printed electronics, MES, and digital thread; and Materials & Post Processing, covering powder recycling, feedstock innovation, testing, heat treatment, finishing, secondary machining, and surface finishing. Additional tracks address consumer products, education and standards, healthcare and dental, simulation and AI, safety and cybersecurity, and workshops and hands-on learning. Attendance is limited to individuals from organizations that directly own commercially available additive manufacturing equipment used in a professional environment; the conference is not open to the general public.
